In February 2025, ACJPS received funding to implement a project titled “Increased Advocacy for Ending Human Trafficking and Smuggling in Sudan through Documentation.” The project aims to document and highlight the experiences of survivors of human trafficking and smuggling in Sudan, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict. By accurately documenting incidents, we hope to increase the availability of information on the two crimes to raise awareness, inform evidence-based interventions, and advocate for accountability. We will also utilize the evidence for future legal processes, including international criminal justice, universal jurisdiction prosecutions, international fact-finding missions, and strategic human rights litigation and systemic change at both local and international levels.
